Experience
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew University. I majored in physics and minored in mathematics. While in school, I was a member of Sigma Pi Sigma, the physics honor society, as well as Pi Mu Epsilon, the honor society for mathematics. I was the first person to receive the Robert L. Fenstermacher Summer Research Fellowship. During my fellowship, I researched the efficacy of using the Raman spectroscopy to find pollutants in water samples. I earned both the Novartis Science Award and the Arnold S. Boxer Memorial Prize in physics. I plan to continue my education to receive a PhD to become a medical physicist. While in college, I tutored students in two different introductory physics courses during which I learned different teaching methods. I consider this experience to be one of the most important contributions to my education. I believe math and physics are not impossible to learn, you just need to be able to apply the principles to real life situations. When a student finally grasps the concept I am helping him or her with, it excites us both, encouraging us to go on and learn more. When not busy with work or school, I like to take a bit of time to go to the beach, go fishing, read a book, or lift weights.
